Underrated design icon

The Fender Telecaster was the first mass market electric guitar. It dates back to 1949 and still sells in an unchanged form today.

Let's put that into context: if your grandfather was musically inclined as a young man, he would have wanted one too.

Here is the Fusebox Telecaster (a 1976 model) and it's much the same as a 1956 or 2006 version.

A design remaining basically unchanged since 1949 must make it one of the most perfectly realised products ever. What other functional device designed in 1949 hasn't become a relic or evolved beyond recognition?
